What Is 'Normal' Behaviour? And How Do You ....
by Celtic inattain the definition of what 'normality' is?.
how can i define it?
does the answer fit within a box?
-
Thomas Poole
The best way to understand what being normal is, is to realize first what abnormality is.
I am saying that to be abnormal is quite normal, because the world, as affected by humanity, is quite abnormal.
To think one is normal [a presumptuous undertaking] is really a momentary delusion, a delusion without any existing parameters of abnormal reality to affect the moment.
Noteworthy, is that abnormal people are quite often the more contented, jesticulating with the upmost irregularity of vicarious make-believe climatic nuances.
They can be very interesting. You can alway know who they are.

this just makes me ill
by uncle jimbo into set the mood: think of the lavish $1 million dollar chandelier in the stanley theater, think of the lavish settings of patterson, think of any excess bankrolled by those morally bankrupt geezers in crooklyn.. now, any of you catch the back cover of the feb 1, 2002 wt?
the title is "wise in their own way" and it's about these impoverished african kids who donate to the society from their lunch money.. from the article:.
unknown to their parents, emmanuel, michael, and uchei, their nine-year-old sister, have been saving part of their lunch money and putting it into the boxes.

The thought of this makes me appalled and sad, with a few tears.
I remember once the Maplewood congregation is St.Paul, Minneapolis had a broke copy machine, propably worth 1500 dollars at the time. They just gave it away to one of the privy elders, who claimed the anointing. He hustled and made a few hundred off it I guess. All it needed was a fuse.
After that I never gave again to the WT, but I looked for individuals to help.

What the New Testament was Really Saying
by forgetmenot ini have heard many people say how confused the bible (specifically the new testament) makes them.
it seems as if the writers jump to different subject that make no sense.
for me it has been very helpful to read the scriptures with love being the purpose of everything they say.

What the New Testament was Really Saying Dec 25, 2001 20:16
Well the Greeks scritures do say a whole much. It helps to start with the four starters: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John because they parallel each other with a lot of the same events. The more you read and recollect about what you read, the more fun it gets and the more happy your disposition should be.
Pray also for God to open up your mind and heart to understand things.
For me it has been very helpful to read the scriptures with love being the purpose of everything they say.
Yes, knowledge is certainly needed but without connecting this knowledge with love as the greatest gift, we are not doing much.Thinking about these things [toys, children; including now Biblical scriptures]envokes a lot of love in a person. Maybe this is all Jesus really wanted, because love makes more than the earth go 'round it makes everything go 'round (after all God is love). The more love we show, the more power God has, and the more he can accomplish.
Very beautiful thinking, forgetmenot. I find reading the scriptures help me love God and his Son, and the Holy Spirit; and by extension, I am ready to love others more.Knowing how to love is tricky. There's always the wrong kind of love.
Thank you for expressing yourself to us.

I go along with the portion of Christ-mast that honors Jesus. The rest I don't care for.
I always keep in mind it is not divinely required to celebrate his birthday, and that now Jesus is a Mighty God in heaven.
Also, I see two sides to the birth-event of Jesus:
- first, satan, probably creating the bad directional [light] star leading the astrological pagans to Herod, then to Jesus; then afterwards, Jehovah's angel approaching the astrologers not go back to Herod.
- next, the individual angel approaching the shepherds and then the angels in heavenly host together singing praise.
Seems as though pagan gifts were accepted in respect for Christ's birth.
After meeting the angel of Jehovah, I guess those astrologers needed to re-think their so-called wisdom. Maybe they became followers of Christ after a while. Surely, they never stopped thinking about him all their lives.
I think it interesting that nasty Herod was allowed to keep ruling, and that Herod was divinely avoided by Joseph and Mary by taking Christ to Egypt, later to return to Israel after Herod died.
Jesus is Lord to the Glory of God.

The time of your life...or... Time IS your life
by Deacon inits the only thing we have control over..time that is...we can choose to do with it what we will.. how much we give to others, to a cause, to a religion, to an ideal..we have dominion over our time...our choice of allocation to that specific arena in the passage of life.. we hurt ourselves we we give minutes or hours to pursuits that dont match our own ideals or beliefs..... seventy years is not long in terms of minutes or hours..... as an ex witness, i came to the conclusion recently that the biblical issue is really between god and his son satan....we just got caught up in it.
i no longer have the time or the energy to pursue a mans interpretation of what is the correct view or stance or attitude to have in regard to what the bible is all about, all i can do is say... .. " god...im lost, confused and dissapointed that it wasnt clearer...and how come you gave very clear direction to your servants in the bible, but the wt organisation seem to just limp from one opinion to another..and how come not a single book containing important prophecy interpretation by the spiritual director fred franz in still in print or refered to?".

christmas?
by moondance inhi, i am not a jehovahs witness.
i was curious why you do not celebrate christmas and birthdays.
i'm not judgmental, just curious.
-
Thomas Poole
This is not a Jehovah's Witness group. This is a barrel of monkeys, and don't say you're not judgemental.
If you have a mind then start expressing it, if you want to learn.
Fall-afoul fell foul at the fall.
Falling twas foul in felling the foul-ups.
Foulups were feeling foul at the felling of falls. -

Since, the KH's are becoming more autonomous, as in private corporate entities; perhaps their individual personalities are coming forth.
I note also that regional divisions are also developing it seems, as in being more independent in their making of literature and books. Note the following:
The letter stated that for the first time in a very long, long time, the Society has to send printing out of their premises [meaning no longer mailing subscriptions via US postal system beginning 2002]. The fancy Spanish Bibles will be printed in Japan and a whole other array of arrangements going on just to keep up printing all the literature that is needed.

What made you a JW?
by radar inwhy did you become a dub?.
a hope for something better?.
an acceptance that your parents religion was the truth?.
-
Thomas Poole
I became a JW because my parents had not taught me the Bible.
When I went to church, it was for something to do with my friends.I never learned anything because I had no scriptural sharing in
my family because my family was disfunctional. If I had known who
I was in Christ, I would not have become a witness.tp

...I sabotage a potential relationship b-4 it even has a chance. ...it seems I cant go beyond a certain point. Even if I get intimate, ...my head telling me that the guy can't possibly be sincere or that I'm doing something wrong??
If you're not a Christian, you are looking for a looser's life, because you will have no spiritual foundation with any man.
If you ever seek to claim Christianity, you must first find yourself in Christ and also understand about the Holy Spirit's causes a new nature about you. You then need to understand how to pick a mate.
In his Christian personality, note what he does, how he behaves under many circumstances and with many kinds of people. Especially study his relationship with his parents. All these tell more about him, than what he might ever say about himself personally.
Also, can he forever never tire of the Bible, love to talk and teach the Bible, want to serve as a Christian. If so, then he probably has the Holy Spirit about him.
If you are not the same, then forget about a wholesome relationship with this man.
